Also saw a Giulia today at a gas station. Didn’t have the 4 leaf clover on the fender, but it had a “Q4" badge on the trunk, so I’m guess it was a quadrfoligio (or how ever it’s spelled.) Still had the paper plates on too.

Kinja'd!!!

So today the car wouldn’t start. Had all the symptoms of a dead battery, checked the voltage and it was fine. Which I though was weird, since I didn’t leave anything electrical on and I tested for a parasitic draw and didn’t find one. I did notice some bubbling around one of the water caps, which I noted but didn’t take a pic of for y’all.

Anyway, I took the battery to AutoZone were I bought it. They load tested it and it passed. I pointed out the bubbling and they let me exchange it for another one (at least it had a five year warranty)

Put the new one in and it started up and ran as fine as it ever has. Not a good look though seeing as how I bought that battery from AutoZone in November or December -_-

Not a quadrifififig. Those are 2wd. Q4 is Alfa’s and Maserati’s terms for all wheel drive

Awwww. I was hoping maybe it was just an appearance package that deleted the 4 leaf clover badge (Since it would look kind of weird on a black car.) I didn’t even know there was an AWD version of the Giulia, at least in America.

I know it’s been already mentioned, but Q4 is Alfa’s AWD designation, they’ve used it since the 80s with the 155 Q4, which sported the 4WD system from the Lancia Delta Integrale.

Most auto parts store batteries suck.

You sure your charging system is working correctly and there’s no draws on the battery when the car is off?

Nah, I checked. No draw on the battery. I guess it was just defective or something. We’d have a few days of sub freezing temps so I guess it just couldn’t handle it.

You should bring your car back and have them check your alternator. I work for AutoZone and I can’t tell you how many cars I have seen with cracked diodes. The sub zero temperatures were brutal on all cars.

There may always be a defect somewhere at some time... Some people may not properly rotate merchandise so a customer may end up with a mediocre battery. But one thing i can vouch for is that out of all the batteries I’ve bought, or people I’ve encountered have bought, Autozone batteries are some of the best... Especially the Duralast Gold and Platinum batteries. (5 and 3 yr warranties). Now either the first battery you bought was a defect ( which unfortunately happens at times but very seldomly) or there is something in your vehicle definitely draining your battery if it happens a second time. If its the latter then you will need take it back to your dealer or a certified mechanic that has knowledge of your vehicle. Hope all works out for you!

Dad had the same happend, brand was Varta i believe. it had lost all charge sitting disconnected for half a month, only been hooked up and started on once. Might just be a manufacturing defect.

Hey look I’m going to reply with a reply that others have already replied but here’s a picture to reinforce that which has already been stated multiple times.

My last battery lasted 4 years with Winter temps reaching -40 routinely. It finally died this Winter after more than a week of -40.

Just below freezing shouldn’t be an issue. I’d say you got a bad battery. There’s a reason why they warranty batteries so much.

The last battery it had was used from a junkyard (from the previous owner), so I wasn’t surprised when it only lasted a year (Had the receipt taped to it.) But I guess this one was just bad, it was the gold one that had the five year warranty.
